Condolence From: Quincy
Condolence: I wanted to send out some gratitude for Susan. She was one of the first fellowes I met at Craven Community College. Susan was incredibly knowledgable and professional.
She had a specialty in serving ADD students. She taught me that she didn't have seated, timed tests in her classes in order to serve students better. I've contemplated this over the years--for its usefulness in consideration of the different learning styles, the needs of students, universality in evaluation, the possibility of many variations on traditional education, and most of all the kindness and acceptance we must offer our students. So, my gratitude is for her kindness and acceptance and her example.

Condolence From: Katy
Condolence: Susan was one of my first instructors at CCC for psychology over 10 years ago. She was funny and passionate and so knowledgeable about her work and loved to tell us funny stories about her kids and (sometimes a little risqué) stories about her husband. It was clear she loved her work. I saw her many times over the years and whenever she rode past my house I would always wave and she looked so happy doing what she enjoyed. I eventually went into the mental health field and have done therapy for 7 years now and she was a little part of that. I'm so sorry for the loss of your loved one!
